About the estate

The ancestors of the Lamarche family already lived in Vosne-Romanée at the end of the Ancien Régime but not yet in the vineyard. Wine made its appearance in the family during the 19th century and has since continued to grow in importance. The estate was truly founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche, a cooper by trade. In 1985, François Lamarche took over the operation upon his father's death, assisted by his daughter Nicole who has been vinifying alone since 2006, by his sister Geneviève who handles the accounting, and by her daughter, Nathalie, who manages the commercial aspect of the business.

The Lamarche estate covers just over 11 hectares, with only 30 ares in aligoté and the rest in pinot noir, producing about 65,000 bottles each year. The vines are located in Vosne-Romanée and Flagey, including, among others, magnificent plots in the Grands Crus Clos de Vougeot and Les Grands-Echezeaux. But the flagship of the estate is the Grande-Rue, a Grand Cru operated as a monopoly.

Since 2010, after several years of conversion, the estate has been operated organically. The philosophy of the Lamarche family is simple: they want to express their history and terroir in their wines. The result is elegant and balanced wines, which gain in finesse each year as significant investments have been made in the cellar and in the vineyards.
