About the estate
The Domaine Huguenot has been a family-owned vineyard for 10 generations. Today, Domaine Huguenot, led by Philippe Huguenot, spans 23 hectares in Côte de Nuits, covering the appellations Marsannay, Fixin, and Gevrey-Chambertin.
For more than 20 years now, the Domaine Huguenot has understood the importance of practicing a more environmentally friendly cultivation. Thus, year after year, the work in the vineyards has evolved significantly. No more pesticides or insecticides to start with, more plowing and interventions in the vineyards throughout the year. 2013 will be the first certified organic vintage of the Domaine Huguenot.
After a high-fashion work in the vineyards, the vinification of the wines from Domaine Huguenot is then done gently. All harvested grapes systematically go through the sorting table, and the handling of the grapes is done by gravity to preserve intact berries. All wines are aged in barrels for 8 to 18 months depending on the appellations. A long aging process is a guarantee of purity, complexity, and precision of the fruit.
