About the estate
The Coche-Dury estate was created in 1923 by Léon Coche, a vineyard worker. His son Georges succeeded him, then Jean-François, who settled in 1973. Raphaël Coche joined the family business in 1997.
Domaine Coche-Dury spans 10.5 hectares, of which 9 hectares are in Meursault, along with plots in Pommard, Monthélie, Auxey-Duresses, Puligny-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne. The total production is about 60,000 bottles.
The work in the vineyard is traditional but practiced with great care and attention to detail. The focus is clearly on limiting yields through pruning, done with extreme care. The same attention to detail is found in a vinification of perfect Burgundian classicism. After a gentle pressing and settling, the wines are fermented in barrels. For the best crus, half of the barrels are renewed each year. They receive regular bâtonnage during their twenty-month aging and are racked twice before being bottled by hand, without filtration.
