Amiot Servelle Les Amoureuses Chambolle Musigny 1er cru 2012 Red Burgundy 75cl

Wine made from pinot noir grapes produced in organic farming.

Tasting

For some, it is a wine that makes you fall in love; for others, it is a wine "that has love," a Burgundian expression describing a great bouquet wine.

A reference among the climates of Chambolle, this wine is on par with a grand cru. Beautiful aromatic intensity where many scents intertwine (licorice, bramble, red and black fruits...). A tannic power that always seems significant with a good mineral intensity, which explains these pronounced tannins.

Food and wine pairings

Braised duck with peas, veal shank with vegetables, roasted stuffed goose, lobster with red wine, partridges, sweetbreads with morels, roasted quail, duck fillets, beef bourguignon, roasted woodcock, stew, lobster with coral sauce, spring veal chop, royal hare, matured rib of beef.

Aging potential

"Give it at least 7 years. But if you are patient, the aging potential exceeds some years over 50 years."

History of the domain

The family - A family passion - In Chambolle-Musigny

In the 1920s, Clément Tachot began to cultivate some vines in Chambolle-Musigny.

His daughter Cécile and his son-in-law Jean Servelle succeeded him in the 1950s and created the SERVELLE-TACHOT estate.

In 1980, Christian Amiot, son of Pierre Amiot, a winemaker in the neighboring village of Morey-Saint-Denis, and husband of Elisabeth Servelle, came to work on the estate.

It was upon the death of Jean Servelle in 1989 that Christian and Elisabeth Amiot-Servelle took over the business. The AMIOT-SERVELLE estate was born.

Christian and Elisabeth have 3 children: Prune, Violette, and Antoine.

Antoine is currently a student at the Dijon Business School.

Violette chose music and is a teaching artist in percussion at the regional conservatory of Dijon.

As for Prune, after studying oenology and obtaining the DNO in 2004, she did internships and then worked in various estates in France and abroad before returning to the family estate in May 2011.

The estate - A dream geographical location

The famous vineyard of Chambolle-Musigny extends on each side of a hollow, a paradise for pinot noir. This tiny vineyard enjoys immense notoriety.

Formerly cultivated by Cistercian monks, Chambolle-Musigny has 24 Premiers Crus and two wonderful Grands Crus: Musigny, overlooking Clos de Vougeot, and Bonnes Mares, located to the north of the village and serving as a link with the village of Morey-Saint-Denis.

The Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée dates back to September 1936, one of the very first in France, the first being that of Morey-Saint-Denis, the birthplace of Christian Amiot.

The slope, facing East/Southeast, is located between 250 and 300 meters in altitude. The cracks in the limestone of the mother rock allow the roots to draw their energy from the Jurassic subsoil, and the alluvial gravels ensure excellent drainage. The soils produce the soft and elegant wines that make Chambolle-Musigny famous, wines referred to as "feminine."

The AMIOT-SERVELLE family operates 7 hectares in the municipality of Chambolle-Musigny.

Since the 2010 vintage, the estate has been enriched with vines from the family of Christian AMIOT, covering an area of about 1 hectare:

• in the neighboring municipality of Morey-Saint-Denis: a village appellation, Morey-Saint-Denis, and a Grand Cru, Clos Saint-Denis

• in the municipality of Gevrey-Chambertin: a Grand Cru, Charmes-Chambertin.
