About the estate and the 2012 cuvée

Until the 1830s, the Léoville estate, between the vineyards of Beychevelle and Latour, was one of the oldest but also one of the largest crus of the Médoc. It was therefore after the French Revolution that it was divided into three: Château Léoville Las Cases, Château Léoville Barton and Château Léoville Poyferré.

The 97 hectares of vines are composed of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.

The wines are aged in oak barrels for 16 to 20 months.

This vintage 2012 is very likely the notable success of Saint-Julien. It is delicious and offers a classy fruitiness. A beautiful length.

Léoville Las Cases 2012 is certainly a wine for long aging.
