Tasting
A WINE FULL OF TENSION AND MINERALITY
Ideal champagne to start the meal, its purity delicately accompanies oysters. A very nice pairing with truffles. To be enjoyed now or kept for 5 to 10 years.
“On the palate, the cuvée Terre de Vertus Larmandier-Bernier is very balanced, with a fine and creamy texture. Elegant notes of citrus and white fruits emerge on the palate, carried by a beautiful freshness and elegant minerality. It is an airy wine, finishing with a beautiful iodized and peppery finale.”

ABOUT THE CUVÉE
This Chardonnay plot has been vinified separately since 1995. It is located in the lieu-dit Les Barillers situated in the middle of the slope in Vertus. This terroir is very special, delicate, salty, and at the same time very complex. The balance is there, no need to blend!
100 % Chardonnay, a single terroir and a single year!
BREEDING
The grapes are gently pressed and the juices very lightly settled before being directly put into barrels. Natural alcoholic fermentation (indigenous yeasts) and malolactic fermentation spontaneously occur in the Stockinger barrels and large casks. The wines are aged on natural lees during the first year without filtration or fining.
Bottling takes place at the end of July without blending with other years – it is a vintage – and without blending with other terroirs – it is a parcel.
The bottles are lowered into the coolness of the cellars where the second fermentation and aging on lees take place quietly for at least 5 additional years. Each bottle is manually disgorged 6 months before marketing.
This wine is non-dosed (no added sugar) to respect its purity until the end.
IN THE HEART OF THE CÔTE DES BLANCS
The LARMANDIER-BERNIER estate is located on the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, in the heart of the Champagne vineyard.
Since the 19th century, the LARMANDIER family has been cultivating the vine on the first and grand crus of the Côte des Blancs. The chalk is the keystone of these great terroirs.
Indeed, among the different production areas of the Champagne appellation, only the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs are on the Campanian chalk that gives the beautiful minerality of Larmandier-Bernier champagnes.
