Grape variety expresses itself marvelously well on the granitic soils of Beaujolais and the silico-limestone of Touraine. It gives low tannic red wines with good acidity. A very intense fruitiness, with spicy and tangy notes of the English candy type.

Loire, Savoie and South-West regions.
